First and foremost is their inability to be financially astute. The move on the pensions were definitely wrong. Teachers save the state 700million dollars a year by foregoing social security contributions in return for a pension. Now the pension isn't crap and these poor workers won't be able to collect social security because of the "Windfall Elimination act" from the early 1980s. This is our illustrious government's "Race to the top?"
